Source of the Río Molinos
Going up C/ Calvario, passing the sports centre, we find a crossroads at which we must take the left-hand path and, some 500 metres further on, this spring will surprise us. In this area of access to the source, benches and snack bars have been installed making a new area for leisure and tourist use.
The Río Molinos spring bubbles from the Sierra Blanca and flows merrily amongst the vegetation-covered rocks, with the colourful oleanders predominating. It continues its path until it reaches the dyke where it becomes a large waterfall in order to then join the Río Verde.
The source constitutes the main source of water supply for the town, at the same time as it irrigates the fertile fields of Istán and encourages the stunning green nature of its landscapes.
